All glucose spikes represent an increase of glucose in circulation, but spikes are not all the same. Spikes look different and have different drivers and impacts.
- Some spikes are caused by meals or stress.
- Some spikes are beneficial, like the spikes that can occur during a workout.*
- Some spikes are caused by exposing your biosensor to extreme temperature fluctuations, like a hot bath, shower, hot tub, or sauna.
If you feel like the spike is incorrect you can remove the Lingo Count value from your graph and from your daily total. To remove Lingo Counts:
- Tap the + button below the spike
- Select “Remove Lingo Counts.”
OR
- Click the ‘'Edit’' button if you want to remove counts from a logged event.
*During exercise, the liver will sometimes release more glucose into circulation than the muscle can absorb resulting in a transient glucose spike. The net effect of this exercise is beneficial to your metabolism and exercise-associated Lingo Count value shouldn’t count against you. Make sure you log if you exercise or connect to Apple HealthKit.
